Big Five: IAPF Special by CrazyAsian1 Big Five: IAPF Special by CrazyAsian1
Shout out to the IAPF - International Anti Poaching Foundation - www.iapf.org.

This one is for the rangers who risk their lives protecting the wildlife of Africa.

I based my first design around the White Rhino, so heres a variant based on the critically endangered Black Rhino. (various sources state they're extinct in the wild. I'm honestly not sure what the sit. rep. is but it's not good either way.)

The natural world is full of wonderful treasures that need to be protected. Let's do our best and preserve our planet for the future.

Print sales of this image or any other images from the Big Five series will be donated to the IAPF so they can continue to protect the wildlife in Africa.

I love how it says B5 on the shoulder. Also love the detail on the ranger's FAL.

This should be a GI Joe subgroup, or a toyline/comic in some other fashion. Fantastic stuff.

I live in South Africa and I can tell you for sure that there are still wild rhino's of both kinds in our national parks. Although their numbers are dwindling at a frightening rate. I really appreciate the effort you are putting into creating awareness about poaching and such.

I agree..this whole series would look great in diorama format, as cast resin larger scale models (with options to assemble them with different poses)

Surprisingly, you never see rhinos used as weapons in science fiction.

When it comes to African or Dessert animals I think Elephants are used a lot even in real life. I played a game called "Age of Mythology" where I piledrived two enemy bases in a multiplayer game with elephants.

The sheer terror of hearing a very loud knock on the front door and then seeing elephants break into the base. Glorious!!

Go look into how Elephants were used for combat in Indian history. Theres a picture floating around of a complete set of chain mail for a war Elephant. Incredible.

I absolutely love this series of drawings, they're amazing! As for the Black Rhino, I think it was one of the subspecies (Western Black Rhino) that went extinct a few years ago.

Yeah, from what I understand, the Black Rhino was classified as extinct in the wild in late summer last year. A serious shame, and yet nobody I spoke to about it seemed to care for very long. Still, this is a beautiful piece of art, and I've been following your work for a good few months now. It never ceases to amaze me that you've managed to combine flowing natural designs of the animals with the bulky and advanced, yet still believable technology. And the care and time you've put into the backstories is inspiring too.

I look forward to seeing your later works, and I hope they all sell well to help raise money for the IAPF!

You need to publish your work as a book. You produce so much high quality work that it is a shame that I can not have it in one easy to view place.

I am sure it would sell well and and help the IAPF further

I agree. These need to be made into a book or a poster series. These would be awesome to have on the wall.

When I saw your comment about the black rhino I went and did a little digging and found that the Western Black Rhino is indeed extinct...I don't know about the rest of the population though.

I really hope that they're not gone, it would be quite tragic to lose such beautiful animals.
