Front view of the Tyr. A little history on the naming.
Tyr is one of the Nordic gods of War. According to Wikipedia: is the god of single combat, victory and heroic glory. One of his defining acts and his place in Norse mythology was to place his hand in the great wolf Fenris's mouth so that the beast could be bound and controlled. After realizing that the gods had tricked him Fenris bit off Tyr's hand.
I chose to name the suit after Tyr for the characteristics of bravery and courage that describe him. The Tyr is the bullet sponge of the squad and will draw fire for the other squad members. Some cases put the individual in direct fire of the opposition with the suits strong defenses shielding the soldier within. Only a strong fearless individual could do such a thing.
The suit is reinforced with layers of polymer armor and hard metal plates in some parts similar to the knights of old. The bulk of the suit makes maneuverability limited but allows for the heightened defensive capabilities.
Offensively the Tyr can sport much heavier and non-conventional weaponry than its smaller counterpart. Standard issue weapon is the Ivaldi M10 which is a hybrid weapon of an airburst grenade launcher and an assault rifle. This gives the user variable offensive options. Other weapons have included small caliber mini-guns, flamethrowers, heavy machine guns, energy based weapons, and various forms of explosive ordinance.
ehhh im happy with the result, but the proportions of the front view and the back view are different. the angle doesnt help either. ill have to be more diligent in the future.[link]
